Eysa Jess Jumpn will attempt to win her eighth consecutive race Saturday night, when she starts as a strong favorite in the Grade 2, $204,600 Dash for Cash Derby. She was a two-length trial winner for the 440-yard stakes for Quarter Horses. Eysa Jess Jumpn started her streak on the Louisiana Champions Day card last December at Fair Grounds. Overall, she is 11-for-14.
The same card includes the Grade 2, $344,050 Dash For Cash Futurity. Chilitos became the fastest qualifier for the 400-yard race for Quarter Horses when he won his trial in 19.76 seconds on Sept. 21 at Lone Star. He proved a length and a half best. The Dash for Cash Futurity has drawn a competitive field of 10.
There are a total of 12 races on Saturday night's card, which gets underway at 6:05 p.m. Central.
The Dash for Cash series is one of the most signifcant of the meet at Lone Star, which also features the $1 million Texas Classic Futurity and the Texas Classic Derby.
