Stirling Drive made a strong early move into a fast pace and then held on gamely to edge The Black Album by a head in the $75,000 Showing Up.

He paid $18.60 for his narrow win in the one-mile race on turf for 3-year-olds.

With Sami Camacho aboard, Stirling Drive settled early before making a quick move to take over the lead nearing the six-furlong mark, held a clear lead turning for home and was all-out to hold off The Black Album who rallied late. Scraps just missed despite going very wide while making a strong move around the stretch turn.
