Karl Broberg reached the mark of 500 training wins in a calendar year on Wednesday night, when Half a Million ($12.40) captured the sixth race at Delta Downs.

Broberg won an additional race at Remington Park, with American League ($6), to bring his total number of wins for 2019 to 501, according to statistics from Daily Racing Form. 

Last year, Broberg became the third trainer in North America to win 500 or more races in a calendar year, behind Steve Asmussen and Scott Lake.

Broberg currently leads all trainers in wins in North America for 2019.
