Bodexpress, who began the Gulfstream Park West meet the most famous maiden in the country, won for the second time in 37 days and did so in noteworthy fashion, setting a new track record after running away to an easy and popular victory in Wednesday's allowance feature. Bodexpress, runner-up to Maximum Security in the Grade 1 Florida Derby earlier in the year, led throughout before cruising home far in front of six over-matched rivals under jockey Emisael Jaramillo. His final time of 1:35.58 for a mile shattered the old course mark of 1:36.25 set more than 19 years earlier by High Ideal at the track formerly known as Calder Racecourse.
Trained by Gustavo Delgado for Top Racing LLC and Global Thoroughbreds LLC, Bodexpress is likely to make his next start in the Grade 3 Harlan's Holiday on Dec. 14 at Gulfstream Park.
