The Kentucky State Veterinarian Office has issued a directive concerning Remington Park-based horses, according to the Equine Disease Communication Center.
They are “directing Kentucky racetracks and their associated training centers to not allow movement of horses which have resided or been at Remington Park on or after Nov.12 without prior approval from the Kentucky State Veterinarian Office.”
Approvals will be made on an individual basis.
Remington has had three horses test positive for equine herpesvirus since Nov. 12. One horse was euthanized and the others, who did not have a fever, have been moved to an empty barn in the stable area.
