The Oklahoma Department of Agriculture has lifted a quarantine on the first of of two "racing" barns that have been under quarantine due to a handful of positive tests for equine herpesvirus. The first positive was confirmed Nov. 14. Below is an update the agency issued late Friday:
"As of Friday, December 6, there is one barn remaining in isolation at Remington Park. The initial barn under quarantine at Remington Park was released this afternoon, as all horses were tested and all came back negative twice over a 14 day period.
"There is currently one remaining racing barn and one isolation barn under quarantine. Both of these barns will continue to be tested and monitored.
"There have been no additional sick horses on the property. All horses are being monitored daily for symptoms and additional testing will be taken if any fevers or clinical signs arise.
"All horses in the quarantined or isolation barns will not be racing, but all other racing will go on as normal at Remington Park."
