Maximum Security (6-5) wins Cigar Mile; Spun to Run 2nd

Maximum Security stated his case for an Eclipse Award as champion 3-year-old male with an emphatic three-length victory over Spun to Run in the Grade 1, $750,000 Cigar Mile at Aqueduct.

Spun to Run finished second over True Timber and Network Effect.

Maximum Security, ridden by Luis Saez for Jason Servis and Gary and Mary West, covered the mile in 1:36.46. He was sent off the 6-5 favorite.

Maximum Security, disqualified from first in the Kentucky Derby in May, added the Cigar Mile to earlier Grade 1 victories in the Haskell at Monmouth and Florida Derby at Gulfstream Park.
