Santa Anita will postpone its opening day from Dec. 26 to Dec. 28 owing to a grim weather forecast, the track announced Saturday afternoon.
Entries for the Thursday, Dec. 26 card were being taken on Saturday. They will now be taken on Monday for a new opening day, Dec. 28 card.
All the stakes from Dec. 26 will be brought back for Dec. 28, including the Grade 1 Malibu and Grade 1 La Brea.
