The smashing maiden victory by Venetian Harbor on Sunday at Santa Anita earned a 94 Beyer, second-highest figure of 2019 by a 2-year-old filly in North America.
Venetian Harbor won the seventh race Sunday by 10 and three-quarter lengths, racing six and one-half furlongs in 1:15.60. The time was the fastest at Santa Anita (on track labelled “fast”) since Red Lightning won a second-level allowance for older in 1:15.29 on Jan. 1, 2019.
Richard Baltas trains Venetian Harbor for a partnership; Joel Rosario rode the second-start daughter of Munnings. Venetian Harbor’s 94 Beyer ranks second behind the 95 earned by Laurel stakes winner Hello Beautiful.
