Arctic Roll ($8.40) was the subject of a sizable wager when the field was being loaded for Sunday's fourth race - a gamble that paid off.
As the field assembled behind the gate, Arctic Roll was 6-1. The 5-year-old mare went off at 3-1 and had an ideal trip, winning the one-mile turf race by 3 3-4 lengths over 7-2 Point Hope.
Point Hope was the 2-1 favorite when the field reached the gate.
There was $196,030 bet to win on the 10 runners. Of that, $38,754 was bet on Arctic Roll.
