Unicorn ($3.40) won Friday's first race by a head over 3-1 Saving Sophie, giving trainer Richard Baltas his 10th win of the winter-spring meeting.

There is now a three-way tie at the top of the standings beween Baltas, Bob Baffert and Peter Miller.

Unicorn was ridden by Umberto Rispoli, his seventh win of the season, his first riding in Santa Anita. Rispoli previously rode in Hong Kong in recent years.
