John Imbriale, the longtime back-up announcer at the New York Racing Association, will now be the full-time race-caller at Aqueduct, Belmont Park and Saratoga, the company announced Wednesday in a press release. Imbriale replaces Larry Collmus, who could not reach agreement on a new contract with NYRA.

Imbriale has been with NYRA since 1979 and has typically been the back-up and winter time announcer. In April 2015, Collmus replaced the retired Tom Durkin. Collmus had signed a five-year contract that expired at the end of 2019.
