Lone Star Park has delayed the opening of its stable area for the Thoroughbred meet scheduled to begin April 16, it announced to horsemen on Friday.
The move was made to be in compliance with coronavirus policies being instituted by the state of Texas, which limits the gathering of people to 10.
Lone Star, in consultation with the Texas Racing Commission, is not allowing horses on the grounds from the dates of Friday through April 3 and following that period the policy will be readdressed.
The annual 2-year-olds in training sale that was to be held April 3 at Lone Star will be postponed, said Mary Ruyle, executive director of the Texas Thoroughbred Association.
