Kimari, who was second by a head in the Group 2 Queen Mary Stakes last year during Royal Ascot, is a candidate to return to the meet this year, trainer Wesley Ward said Saturday after the filly's impressive win in the $100,000 Purple Martin Stakes at Oaklawn.
Ward said Kimari is under consideration for the Group 1 Commonwealth Cup. It is scheduled for June 19.
"We'll see what happens with Ascot," he said of scheduling in this era of the coronavirus pandemic.
