The Southern California-based Thousand Words drew post 4 for the $200,000 Oaklawn Stakes, which has lured a field of 13 for Saturday. The mile and an eighth race for 3-year-olds is one of two stakes on the card. The $150,000 Oaklawn Mile is for 4-year-olds and up. The Oaklawn Stakes will go as the 11th race Saturday. 

The field from the rail: Basin, Coach Bahe, Mr. Big News, Thousand Words, Sir Rick, Shoplifted, Flap Jack, Taishan, Digital, Something Natural, Background, Farmington Road  and Gold Street. 

Thousand Words is a Grade 2 winner invading for trainer Bob Baffert, who has given the mount to Joe Talamo.

The Oaklawn Stakes carries a Preakness berth, while the top three finishers will earn berths into the Arkansas Derby, a Grade 1, $750,000 race May 2 at Oaklawn.
