Just one scratch on the 7-race card that begins at 1:15 p.m. Pacific.
Take (7) Coulterberry out of Race 5.
Owner-trainer Glen Todd is off to a strong start at the meet and the trend figures to continue today. He has the morning-line favorite in three of the four races he has horses entered.
He should win the first race with 6-5 (4) Boundary Bay who is the lone speed. (4) Dakati is 8-5 to win the second. He won his only start here and is dropping to bottoms after a decent effort in his first try on turf at Turf Paradise.
Hard to imagine Todd not winning Race 4 with either 8-5 (5) Five Star General or 2-1 (6) He's the Reason. The General is making his first start since he won the Grade 3 British Columbia Derby. I prefer He's the Reason. The multiple stakes-winner is the lone speed and he looked great in his bullet 4-furlong move on July 6.
The track is fast.
