Kentucky Derby-winning jockey Stewart Elliott reached a milestone of 5,000 career wins Sunday night, when he won Lone Star Park's eighth race aboard Power End ($8,80). 

Elliott rode the half-length winner of the turf sprint allowance for Bloom Racing Stable and trainer Steve Asmussen.

Elliott won the 2004 Kentucky Derby aboard Smarty Jones. He is a 55-year-old native of Toronto. He is currently based at Lone Star Park. The win Sunday was his second on the card.
