Lone Star Park closed out its 37-date meet Wednesday night. Handle on the 11-race card from all sources was $3,117,639, with $2.9 million of that amount bet offtrack. The attendance ontrack closing night was 1,195. Below are more meet figures from Lone Star:
M and M Racing won the owner title with 29 wins. The second-leading owner was End Zone Athletics with 18 wins.
Steve Asmussen won the trainer title with 50 wins, with seven of those victories coming in stakes. The second leading trainer was Karl Broberg with 42 wins.
Ramon Vazquez won the riding title with 58 wins. Stewart Elliott, who last week reached a milestone of 5,000 career wins, was second in the standings. Elliott won 53 races at Lone Star, including six stakes races.
There were 141 claims during the meet, for $1,350,500 in transactions among stables.
Favorites won at a 34 percent rate this season at Lone Star.
