Jockey Flavien Prat has gained the mount on Cupid's Claws in the eighth race, a late replacement for Ricardo Gonzalez.
Gonzalez was taken to first aid after the seventh race when his mount - Mean Sophia - was injured shortly after the start.
Prat won three of the first seven races.
