Budro Talking gives former jockey Austin first stakes as a trainer on Louisiana Cup card Saturday

Budro Talking ($6.40) gave Keith Austin, a former jockey, his first stakes win as a trainer Saturday in the $50,000 Louisiana Cup Turf Classic at Louisiana Downs.

The race was one of six stakes on the card, all restricted to horses bred in Louisiana.

Austin started his training career in July and is 4-for-5, according to records from Daily Racing Form.

Also on the card, jockey Diego Saenz won three stakes. He accounted for the $50,000 Juvenile Fillies with Mirabeau ($3.80); the $50,000 Distaff with Is Too ($7.20) and the $50,000 Filly and Mare Sprint with Snowball ($7.60).

Saltee Stark ($12) won the $50,000 Sprint by a half-length over Bernie's Galaxy, while it was another two and a half lengths back in third to Monte Man.

The $50,000 Juvenile went to Chu Chu's Legacy, a 2-year-old named for the late groom Elias Perez.
