Evangeline Downs in Opelousas, La., announced via Twitter that live racing has been canceled from Thursday through Saturday night ahead of the anticipated Gulf Coast landfall of Hurricane Delta. The track is conducting a meet for Quarter Horses. Racing is scheduled to resume Oct. 15. 

Evangeline is the sister track of Delta Downs in Vinton, La., which has had to postpone its Thoroughbred meet to November as it makes repairs following the August hit of Hurricane Laura.
