Jockey Flavien Prat, who led the standings at the Del Mar summer meeting, will not ride on Saturday at Del Mar after working horses earlier in the day at Keeneland.
Track officials notified Prat that he would not be allowed to ride if he worked horses at Keeneland because of the coronavirus pandemic. Prat was named to ride three of the nine races on Saturday's program, which begins at 12:30 p.m., Pacific.
Here are the replacements -
In the first race, Ricardo Gonzalez will ride Armour Plate (3).
In the fifth race, Gonzalez rides Beguiled (2).
In the seventh race, Mike Smith rides Proud Emma (3).
Prat is not named to ride at Der Mar on Sunday.
On a related note, jockey J.C. Diaz, Jr., has tested positive for the coronavirus and is isolating at home, accordig to a statement released on Saturday by Del Mar publicity.
Diaz was asymptomatic when notified on Friday that he had tested positive. At the earliest, Diaz could resume riding on Nov. 13, if he tests negative.
Track officials said all jockeys and jockey's room personnel were tested on Wednesday and Thursday before arriving on racetrack grounds for Saturday's opening day.
