Todd Fincher, a longtime leading trainer in New Mexico, said he is sending a division of horses to Sam Houston Race Park. The meet opens in January. Fincher also plans to have horses at his winter base of Sunland Park.

Fincher is currently is racing at Zia Park in Hobbs, N.M., and also has shipped some horses into Remington Park for races during the Oklahoma City meet that closes Dec. 20. 

Sam Houston will be a new meet for Fincher. He plans to have 24 horses in place for the season.
