Remington Park puts on points race for the Kentucky Derby on Friday night with the running of the $200,000 Springboard Mile. The race is one of six stakes on a 13-race program that gets underway at 5 p.m., Central. The track is fast, according to the stewards. At this time there are no changes for the Springboard Mile.
The first four finishers in the Springboard Mile - provided they are not racing on Lasix - will earn points toward the Kentucky Derby, according to a spokesperson from Churchill Downs. The Kentucky Derby will be a Lasix-free race in 2021. Most of the horses in the Springboard Mile will be racing on Lasix on Friday.
