Whitmore, the Breeders' Cup Sprint winner who was recently crowned champion male sprinter of 2020 during the Eclipse Awards, had his first work back Saturday at Oaklawn.
He went a half-mile in 51 seconds, according to works published on the website of Daily Racing Form. The track was listed as fast. It was Whitmore's first move since the Breeders' Cup win on Nov. 7.
It was also his first move as a champion.
"I'm very happy for him to get the recognition," said trainer Ron Moquett.
Moquett said last month that Whitmore's objectives this meet are the Hot Springs Stakes and the Count Fleet.
The work tab Saturday included some runners expected for upcoming stakes at Oaklawn. Entries were taken Saturday for next Saturday's running of the Razorback and Dixie Belle.
