Sam Houston Race Park in Houston has canceled live racing for Wednesday and is monitoring the forecast going forward, according to Frank Hopf, senior director of racing operations for the track. 

"We got a couple of inches of snow Monday morning," Hopf said. "We are going to cancel training and racing for tomorrow, Wednesday. The track still has ice on it. We'll cancel those two items and re-evaluate in the morning.

"We've got another storm warning, coming today, tonight. We'll take it day by day to see how the weather progresses for the rest of the week." 

Sam Houston is located about two hours from Delta Downs in Vinton, La., which due to inclement weather has also canceled for Wednesday.
