Remington Park in Oklahoma City has delayed the start of its upcoming Quarter Horse meet to Sunday, March 7, the track announced Wednesday. Remington had been scheduled to open March 4.
The change was made due to extreme winter weather, including a snow accumulation of more than 10 inches this week, according to a press release. Horses have been uanble to train since Feb. 8.
The new start date will kick off a three-day opening week that includes racing on Monday and Tuesday, March 8-9. The track will move to its normal Thursday through Sunday schedule starting March 11.
