Oaklawn Park on Tuesday announced a 15 percent increase to overnight purses that makes some allowances worth as much as $110,000. The new increase makes maiden special weight purses worth $93,000 and the bottom purse level $27,000.
A total of an additional $2.5 million will be put into overnight purses for the remainder of the meet, according to the press release. It's the largest "mid-season" purse increase in track history.
