Factor This, winner of the Muniz Memorial in 2020, had to be scratched from this year's renewal of Fair Grounds richest turf race because of a bruised foot, trainer Brad Cox reported Saturday morning. 

Dreamalildreamofu was scratched from the Tom Benson Memorial on Saturday in favor of an upcoming stakes at Turfway Park, Cox said.

Earlier Saturday, Cox sent champion colt Essential Quality, among the favorites for the Kentucky Derby, out for a five-furlong work in company with the older horse Spa City. Cox said Essential Quality worked brilliantly. "It was a 'whoa' kind of move," Cox said. Cox timed Essential Quality from the five-furlong pole to the wire in 59.40, out six furlongs in 1:12.20.
