Jockey Leandro Goncalves, who was unseated at the start of the 10th race Sunday at Lone Star Park, will be off his mounts Monday. He is scheduled to resume riding on Friday, according to his agent, Travis Church.
Goncalves was thrown when his mount ducked out sharply toward the gap at the start of a turf sprint. Goncalves was taken to a local hospital for precautionary reasons and was released Sunday night, said Church.
"He's at home recuperating," Church said Monday morning. "He's got body soreness. Nothing's broken. He's just pretty sore. He'll be off his mounts today and will ride next week. He should ride on Friday."
Following the card Monday, the next race day at Lone Star is Friday.
