On a day with a pool of new money that surpassed $3 million, and featured a mandatory payout, the 20-cent Rainbow pick six paid $535 at Santa Anita on Sunday, the final day of the six-month winter-spring meeting.
There were 4,864 winning tickets.
The bet began with a carryover of $277,870 from Saturday. Bettors added $3,051,181 on Sunday.
The winners of the pick six races, the sixth through 11th, were Ricotta ($12.20), Restrainedvengence ($8.80), At the Spa ($5.80), Warren's Showtime ($5.80), Just Distorted ($5.40) and Gypsy Blu ($4.40).
This the last Rainbow format to a pick six for three weeks, until the start of the Del Mar summer meeting on July 16.
The seven-day Thoroughbred summer meeting at Los Alamitos that begins on Friday has an old-fashioned $2 pick six - believe it or not - with 70 percent of the net pool paid to tickets with six winners, or into a carryover if there are no tickets with six winners, and 30 percent devoted to consolation tickets with five winners.
