Kanthaka, the 3-1 morning-line favorite in the Grade 2, $400,000 Woody Stephens, is the major scratch on today's Belmont Stakes program. West Point Thoroughbreds, the owners of Kanthaka, tweeted this morning that the horse has a bruised heel.
It's fast and firm and looks to be a beautiful day on tap for the 150th Belmont Stakes. Will it be a coronation for Justify? I don't know. We have 9 more hours to ponder.
