Sunday Woodbine preview

Lane 5 and firm for the turf on a very hot/humid day. The record high temperature for this day in Toronto is 33.9 Celcuis, and the forcasted high isn't far off that mark.  

The expanded 12-race card includes several events from Wednesday, a program which was cancelled due to a power outage.

The G3 Trillium lured a solid field of 10, including the improving 3yo Miss Mo Mentum, who's meeting older distaffers off a troubled victory in the G3 Selene. Selene runner-up Dixie Moon subsequently won the $500K Woodbine Oaks.

The allowane prep for the Trillium was run over a speed-favoring track, which benefited victorious My Arch Enemy and hindered third-place finisher Gamble's Ghost. The former Euro Ickymasho was a stalking second then in her local debut.

Sugar Jones and Silhouette are scratched from the Trillium.

Co-leading trainers Mark Casse and Norm McKnight traded blows yesterday. Both scored twice, bringing their win total to 30 apiece. Both have a full slate of runners today.

Leading rider Rafael Hernandez won five races yesterday. He has a 57-39 lead over Eurico Da Silva.

The Jackpot Hi 5 carryover is nearly $30K.
