Phil Gleaves strikes again with another longshot debut winner

First-time starter Swamp Rat rallied from off the pace to run by pace-setting Joyful Heart and upset this maiden turf sprint for 2-year-olds. At 24-1, he was the second-longest shot on the board and returned $51.50.

On May 25, Gleaves won with the first-time starter Yes and Yes who returned $75. Both Yes and Yes and Swamp Rat are 2-year-olds.

Swamp Rat was ridden by Dylan Davis, who replaced Rajiv Maragh, who was being evaluated in First-Aid after being involved in a spill in race 4. Maragh will not ride ther reminder of today's card due to general soreness.

Swamp Rat's victory kicked off the pick-6 that had $263,455 new money on top of $85,507 carryover. The pick-6 has not been hit since Thursday.
