Trainer D. Wayne Lukas said Thursday morning that Luis Saez has the mount on Bravazo in the $9 million Pegasus World Cup Invitational on Jan. 26 at Gulfstream Park. The horse is currently based at Oaklawn.
Saez teamed with Bravazo most of last year, including in the Preakness, when the pair finished second by a half-length to eventual Triple Crown winner Justify. Saez also was aboard Bravazo when the horse ran second in the Haskell Invitational and third in the Travers.
Saez regularly rode champion Will Take Charge for Lukas.
Bravazo closed out 2018 with a third-place finish in the Breeders' Cup Dirt Mile, under Luis Contreras, and a second in the Clark Handicap, under Joel Rosario. The horse races for his breeder, Calumet Farm.
