Concur, the 2-1 favorite in Friday's eighth race, was ruled a non-starter after a steward's inquiry that focused on the start of the race. An assistant starter appeared to have difficulty freeing his hand from Concur's bridle at the start, preventing the 4-year-old gelding from breaking with the field. The assistant starter fell heavily on to the main track, but was not believed to be injured.
Concur raced at the back of the field throughout the starter allowance at 6 1-2 furlongs.
The race was won by Royal Trump, who was 5-2 before the scratch and 8-5 after the scratch. After Concur's scratch, Royal Trump was the second choice behind Italiano, who was also 8-5, but had $748 more wagered on him to win.
All bets within the eighth race involving Concur (7) were refunded - win, place, show, exacta, trifecta, the late double, and superfecta.
All super high five tickets were refunded because of the late scratch of Concur.
There was a consolation pick three paid out on the results of the sixth through eighth races.
