Apprentice jockey Evin Roman won consecutive races on favorites in the third and fourth races on Saturday, and has a shot at a hat track on the 10-race progam.
Roman rides Texas Two Step (7) in the upcoming fifth race, an optional claimer at six furlongs on dirt. Later, he rides Rick's Dream (6) in the seventh race for maiden claimers and Combat Zone (13) in the 10th race, a maiden race on turf.
Through Saturday's fourth race, Roman has won 26 mounts at the meeting, and ranks fourth in the standings behind veterans Flavien Prat, Joe Talamo and Rafael Bejarano.
Roman won Saturday's third race for maidens on Microrithms ($3.80) and the fourth race on Where's the D ($3) in a $6,250 claimer.
