Texas Chrome, who will attempt to become a millionaire on Saturday night at Lone Star Park, could see stakes action in New Mexico next month, according to his trainer, Allen Milligan. 

Texas Chrome is a candidate for the $200,000 Downs at Albuquerque Handicap, according to Milligan. The mile and an eighth race will be run on Aug. 5. Texas Chrome won his two richest races at the distance, in last year's Grade 3 Super Derby and Grade 3 Oklahoma Derby. He is the reigning Texas-bred Horse of the Year. 

The Downs at Albuquerque has increased the purse for this year's Handicap by $25,000. 

Milligan is a private trainer for Texas Chrome's owner, Danny Keene.
