My meet preview on 2yos to watch prominently mentioned LADYBUG (1), who debuts in race 1, as one to watch for trainer Richard Mandella. I've seen tapes of her works and she can fly. Although he once was terrific with firsters, Mandella has a poor record with firsters in recent years, but this filly can run. Of those who have raced I think NEWPORT BREEZE (4) has the potential to improve with a better draw

In race 2, PRIVATE TERRACE (5) looks like a standout, and I'm going to stand alone with returnee VYJACK (7) in race 3. He fires fresh and has worked well.

In race 4, I'm using LITTLE JUANITO (6), who has the best form of those who have run, and firster WAY GONE (9), who had a much-improved drill from the gate on Wednesday under Garcia, who has the mount.

Race 5 is inscrutable, so I'm going six deep: 1-4-7-10-12-13.

That's a $12 play at the 50-cent minimum, and I'll press with LADYBUG.
