Jockey David Flores said earlier this week that he plans to retire on Sunday to begin a career as a trainer in Florida, focusing on pinhooking yearlings.
He has one mount left on Friday - Cafe Flavor (4) in the upcoming seventh race.
Cafe Flavor was fifth in an optional claimer at 1 1-2 miles on turf at Santa Anita on June 18, after proving to be a handful for jockey Gary Stevens.
In the seventh race, Cafe Flavor may be better suited to an allowance race at 1 1-16 miles on turf. The race drew a field of 10 and is led by Oregon (2), who beat maidens convincingly in his last start at Santa Anita on June 17.
With 16 minutes to post, Cafe Flavor is 18-1. Oregon is the 2-1 favorite.
