Joe Talamo won two of the first four races on Friday's program and has one more chance for a third win of the evening program when First Responder starts in a $40,000 claimer for maidens in the sixth race.

Talamo does not have mounts in the final two races on the program.

First Responder (1) runs sparingly. He ran twice in the winter of 2014-15 and once in 2016, his most recent srtart. This is his first start for a claiming price and does not meet a tough field.

Upperclassman (2) is the 5-2 favorite on the morning line following a fifth in a $40,000 claimer for maidens on the hillside turf course at Santa Anita on July 1.

Through Friday's fourth race, Talamo's two wins on the card give him nine wins for the meeting, good enough for fourth behind leader Evin Roman with 15.
