Off turf on a cloudy day, with a chance of more showers.
The $125K Clarendon Stakes, for Ontario-bred juveniles, is wide open. Morning line favorite Be Vewy Vewy Quiet won his debut by 11 lengths in a slow clocking with just a 41 Beyer. Differential was good-looking second-out maiden winner on the turf. Eskiminzin has worked nicely since notching his opener from off the pace. He should enjoy the move out from five to five and a half furlongs.
Luis Contreras is off his mounts, because he's riding Breaking Lucky in the G1 Whitney at Saratoga.
The Jackpot Hi 5 carryover is $601K for the 10th.
