Bigg Daddy was the fastest qualifier on Day 2 of trials for the All American Futurity when he won the seventh race in 21.61 seconds, according to officials with Ruidoso Downs. There were 14 trials on the card, and the horses with the five fastest times Saturday earned a spot in the starting gate for the Grade 1, $3 million finale Sept. 4.
G.R. Carter was aboard Bigg Daddy for trainer Wes Giles. The horse won the Zia Futurity one start prior to the trial. He dominated on Saturday, winning by two and three quarter lengths for owner Too for Two.
The other qualifiers on Saturday, according to a posting by Ruidoso, were Uptown Dynasty, 21.80; Hawkeye, 21.80; Hotstepper, 21.82; and Fly Baby Fly 21.90.
