A California-bred Bodemeister filly sold for $300,000 at Tuesday's Barretts Select Yearling Sale at Del Mar, the leading hip of the one-day sale.
The filly was purchased for $300,000 by Samantha Siegel, who bid through trainer Brian Koriner.
The price was a record for a yearling at a Barretts sale since the company was formed in 1990.
Siegel owns the filly's half-brother - Take the One O One - who is nominated to the Del Mar Juvenile Turf this weekend. Koriner said that was a leading factor in the acquisition.
"We've got the brother," he said. "She's by Bodemeister and he's a hot stallion. We think Take the One o One will be a stakes horse."
The filly is out of North Freeway, a 9-year-old mare by Jump Start, who won the 2012 Winter Melody Stakes at Delaware Park and earned $273,610.

"It's a young mare and I think the family will get better and better," Koriner said.
