Putting aside for a moment favorable trips and the debate over whether he has become a better horse than Arrogate, who was miles better than him in both of their head to head meetings, one thing you absolutely have to admire about Gun Runner is the way he puts his races away.

I mean, the whole world could see Gun Runner was going to win the Woodward before even reaching the stretch. But instead of being cute about it and saving something for some nebulous other day, Gun Runner went ahead and poured it on - without undo pressure, mind you - and won off the way you would like a serious horse to win, just like he did in the Whitney, and Foster, etc, etc.

One other thing to admire about Gun Runner is his Grade 1 sweep of Saratoga's Whitney and Woodward. That is big boy stuff right there.
