Saturday Woodbine preview

A moment of silence will be held after the seventh race to honor the memory of outrider/exercise rider Darren Fortune, who passed away after a morning training accident yesterday. The 43-year-old native of Barbados was the main exercise rider for trainer Nick Gonzalez.

Lane 4 and firm (11.4 GS) for the turf on a partly cloudy day.

Yesterday's card was cancelled, and the Jackpot Hi 5 pot that carries over from Monday is $1.332 million for the 10th race. Snicker is the 3-1 morning line favorite in the wide open NW2 Ontario-sired allowance/$40K claimer on the grass.

The Jackpot Hi 5 will be suspended after tomorrow, and there will be mandatory payout next Saturday on the Woodbine Mile card.

Saratoga maiden winner Sly Roxy should be favored in the $100K Ontario Debutante Stakes, a six-furlong sprint for 2yo fillies. Glamanation is the lone stakes winner in the five-horse field. Gary Boulanger inherits the mount on her from David Moran, who's serving a suspension.
