Here's Hannah paid $2.90 for her front-running win over Raider in the $100,000 Sadie Diamond Futurity. She was ridden by leading rider Richard Hamel for trainer John Morrison.
The B.C.-bred daughter of Numaany was never under any real pressure while posting interior fractions of :22.24 and :46.48 seconds over the sloppy surface. Raider, who chased her the whole way, finished a clear second over Sonoma.
The final time for the 6 1/2 furlongs was 1:18.13.
The first three races were won by horses on the lead. They were all favored, though, so it is too early to say how much the track is favoring speed. Nonetheless, with the Sea to Sky Pick 6 starting race 4 with a $16,276 carryover, it makes sense to focus on horses with speed.
