The first of four graded stakes on this afternoon's Woodbine Mile day card, the Grade 3, $125,000 Bold Venture Stakes, is coming up next in Race 6, and will be run over 6 1/2-furlongs on Tapeta.

A key scratch of the morning line favorite Good Bye Greg makes the race somewhat wide open.

The inside was a good path to victory for three of the first four winners on the card on Tapeta, so it's possible that Boreal Spirit and Puntrooskie will get out of the gate quickly to gain valuable positioning going into the first turn. Puntrooskie won this race last year against eventual Canadian champion sprinter Noholdingback Bear, while Boreal Spirit was beaten two lengths by this year's top Woodbine sprinter, Pink Lloyd, in the Shepperton Stakes two starts back on Aug. 12.

The popular Unbridled Juan cuts back to a sprint for the first time since his career debut back in February 2015. He's a bit of an unknown going shorter, but his dam, Sugar Swirl, was a multiple graded stakes winner sprinting.

Another question mark is Circle of Friends, who will be looking to bounce back after suffering his first defeat of the season in the King Corrie Stakes just 12 days ago on Sept. 4, but figures to be a short price while facing older horses. There was a strong headwind in the stretch on that day, which may have prevented a better showing.

Rounding out the field are Ikerrin Road and Majestic Slew.
