Finley'sluckycharm won the TCA as the public expected Saturday - just not in the manner anticipated. Normally a quick-breaking filly that positions herself first or second, she was a litttle slower into stride and fourth in the early going - potentially in a troubled position.
In the end, she relied on her class to carry her to victory. She split horses under Brian Hernandez Jr. at the top of the lane and gradually pulled away for a clear-cut victory over runner-up Chalon and third-place True Romance. She raced six furlongs in 1:10.01, paying $3.60.
The race earned her a paid-berth in the Breeders' Cup Filly And Mare Sprint.
