Veteran jockey Iggy Puglisi won the sixth and seventh races on Friday to nearly double his win total for the year and record his second and third wins of the racing week.

Puglisi has five wins this year. He rode a winner on Thursday and was perfect with two mounts on Friday, both favorites - Chay Up and Away ($4) in the fifth race and Axelrod ($4) in the seventh race.

The double was his first two-win day since Aug. 19, 2016 at Del Mar.

Puglisi, 43, began his career in Washington State in 1990 and has been a fixture in Southern California for more than two decades.
